Description

The PocketPro Gen-III:

New for the Gen-III design are 3D machined handle scales.  The improved handle design is more refined and adds a bit more volume to the grip.  The PocketPro design provides good knuckle clearance and a long cutting edge for its overall size.  Blade thickness and bevel geometry have been designed appropriately for this sharp but rugged carry/utility knife.  On the spine, running from beyond the thumb ramp to the tip, is an additional 90° sharpened edge. This second edge can be used for various scraping tasks or to shower sparks from a ferrocerium rod.  The handle scales are CNC machined and fastened with Gulso Torx screws, making them fully interchangeable with optional scales in different materials and colors.  The compact grip and paracord tail with custom bead allow for several grip options, making this knife a very versatile EDC tool to be used for the long haul.

My standard sheath as supplied with the PocketPro is made of thermoformed Kydex.  Each sheath is formed to the individual knife, giving great fit and retention.  A FOMI waisteband (OWB) belt clip comes standard.  The eyelet holes have nominal spacing to accommodate alternate carry options.  Upgraded sheath fasteners have Torx heads.

Specific to This Piece:

Serial # 24-012 has a Smoke Satin Stonewash finish.  The bevels have been hand-rubbed up to an 800 level, then the blade was given a light acid stonewash treatment.  This process renders a slightly dulled/darkened effect, while still revealing some shine underneath.  The edge itself has been ground, honed, and then stropped  to extreme sharpness.  The handle scales are made of layered Grey/Black Richlite.  The sheath has matching Grey/Black Kydex panels with elongated-hex window slots.  The braided paracord tail attaches a custom micarta bead, sandwiching a pocketed stainless hex piece.
