Description
The Dodeca Ring has a 12-sided ‘dodecagon’ shape, both inside and out. There is a reason for it. On the inside, the faceted corners provide extra breathing room for the skin around the finger. The unique shape, while still maintaining proper ring size and retention, inherently has some reserve volume to it. When compared to a traditional round ring of the same size, the Dodeca gives a more comfortable fit throughout the day, and is also more forgiving to remove, if you ever want to take it off.
Ultem 1000 is an incredibly strong aerospace material. It is the perfect match for making my Dodeca Rings. The translucent amber color plays with light, refracting from both inner and outer facets even as you wear the ring. Dodeca’s made from Ultem are extremely tough and able to stand up to hard daily use for a very long time. And, Ultem (like my other composite ring materials) does not feel like an ice cube when worn exposed in a cold environment.
I first CNC-machine these using a special workholding process, and then I hand finish each ring individually. Ultem is not the easiest material to put a smooth finish on, but I take the time to handwork a satin finish on all 12 facets, both inside and outside of the ring. Each ring is also given a final rubbed finish of beeswax before packaging.
Available sizes in stock are as-noted in the option drop-down list. If a size is not in stock, I can make one for you. Simply use the ‘Contact’ link above to discuss any custom orders with me.
The Dodeca’s sizing fits true to US ring size standards in a ‘comfort ring’. Please know your correct ring size before ordering. Exchanges can be difficult due to limited availability in these custom runs.
